What better way to keep our content flowing here at Ocean State Running than to recognize the top moments of the outdoor track season of 2023. Over the next few weeks, BSR will highlight some of the finer performances by our track & field athletes. Congratulations to all our athletes. Memorable Moments, 2023: Sutherland Sizzles At Classical Classic
Like a number of our top sprinters, Ailani Sutherland excelled on the track this spring. Among some of her accomplishments were Class A titles in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, all-state honors in the two events and a sub-12 for the 100m at the New Balance Nationals last month. Sutherland kick-started her outdoor season with multiple victories at the state’s first qualifier, the Classical Classic on April 29. It was there that she claimed victory in the 100m (12.12) and 200m (25.83) and also anchored her team’s winning 4x100m relay (49.54).
