Memorable Moments, 2023: State 400m Best For Doe At St. Germain Invite
One of the biggest surprises of the 2022-23 was Youton Doe. In his first year year of track, the Tolman High senior demonstrated uncanny talent in events ranging from the 200-meter dash to the 600m. Doe’s specialty proved to be the 400m where he was one of our state’s top runners during the spring season. In mid May, Doe became our first of three runners to break 50 seconds by capturing the individual title at the St. Germain Invitational with a state best and PR of 49.62. The Tiger standout would follow that performance by taking the Class A title and making all-state honors at the RI Outdoor Championships with a runner-up finish and time of 50.42 seconds, just .33 behind individual winner. Elias Sposato of Chariho.
