Injury Fund Relay Carnival Kicks Off Season On Saturday

Here we go! It’s time to get into indoor mode.

The competition portion of the indoor track & field season gets underway on Saturday with the annual RITCA Injury Fund Relay Carnival at the PCTA fieldhouse. Flip-flopping the order from last year, the boys will compete first at 12 p.m., with the Metropolitan and Suburban Division teams hitting the oval. The Northern and Southern Division squads will compete at 2 p.m. The girls start at 4 p.m., with the Bayha and Dwyer Division schools and conclude at 5:30 p.m., with the Headley and Sullivan Division teams. The Relays consist of 10 events with the 4×800-meter relay, the 4x200m and the 4x400m listed as state qualifiers. In addition, the DMR and the SMR can be used as qualifiers for the New Balance or Nike national meets in March.

Ocean State Running will, of course, be on site for this weekend’s meet. Out in the lobby will be selling our coveted merchandise, provided by Marathon Sports, which powers our website.
