Two More State Marks For Raye, 4:53 Mile For Von Housen At Nike

It was a big day for the Ocean State during the final day of competition at the Nike Indoor Nationals.

Once again, the highlight of the day belonged to West Warwick’s Lisa Raye. The Wizard phenom broke two state records with a pair of runner-up finishes in the 60-meter dash and the 200m. Raye was just one-thousandths of a second behind eventual winner Avery Lewis (Friends Central, PA) in a down-the-wire affair in the 60m where she dipped under her short-lived record of 7.38 from the semifinals a few hours earlier. Raye was just .04 behind Elise Cooper (McDonough, MO) in the 200m where she was timed in 23:53, breaking her one-day-old record of 23.58 from the preliminaries on Friday.
