Memorable Moments, 2024: Clippers’ DeFusco Goes Sub-5 At Loucks Games

It was yet another eventful season for our RI track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Ocean State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign

Among other accomplishments this spring, Kiley DeFusco would win a Class A title in the 800-meter run and a 3K crown at the State Meet. A few weeks prior to this race, we had a sense that the Cumberland High junior would manufacture her best season for the Clippers based on what she did down in New York at the prestigious Glenn B. Loucks Games. Competing in one of the featured events of the meet, DeFusco became our state’s third runner of the season to break the five-minute barrier in the mile with a nearly 20-second PR of 4:57.94. Her 1,500m time of 4:37.93 en route to her ninth-place finish was a best by nearly seven ticks.
