USATF Junior Olympic Nationals On The Docket (June 22-28)

The state will be well-represented this week at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships. The seven-day meet is being held from Monday to Sunday at EB Cushing Stadium at Bryan-College Station, Texas.

Some of our top entries include New Balance Nationals 100- and 200-meter champion Lisa Raye of West Warwick and older sister Xenia Raye, who are both schedule to compete, and prosper, in their specialties this week in their respective age 15-16 and 17-18 divisions. The trials for the 15-16 200m will take place on Thursday at 2:20 p.m., while the 100m is slated for Friday at 1:10 p.m. The trials for the 17-18 200m are Tuesday at 3 p.m., while the 100m is Friday at 1:55 p.m.

The hammer competition is another event where the Ocean State has a legit chance to populate the podium with several among the top seeds. The age 17-18 division is Tuesday with the boys at 1:30 p.m. The girls are Wednesday at 10 a.m.. On Wednesday, the 15-16 division has the boys at 3 p.m., and the girls at 6 p.m.
