While most of the state took this weekend off to prep for the upcoming class championship, two of our squads had one final tune up on Saturday with Toll Gate and Pilgrim making the hour-long trek to Franklin Park, site of the 63rd annual Catholic Memorial Invitational.
Pilgrim’s Keaney Bayha was the top RI finishers, placing finished third overall in the girls’ varsity race with a time of 18 minute, 52.1 seconds for the challenging 5K. Toll Gate sophomore Mea Ayotte was 36th among the nearly 200 finishers with a 20:44.1 clocking. The Titans’ Anna O’Donnell, another tenth-grader, was 47th in 21:11.9.
In one of two boys’ race, Toll Gate’s Josh Maynard with sixth in the Silver race with a satisfying 17:04.5 for the 3..1-mile distance. The Titans’ William Goodine, a junior, was 63rd overall with a time of 19:17.3. Senior Ryan Brady was 71st at 19:28.9.
