It was billed as The Decision.
It was a day devoted to West Warwick enormously-talented sprinter Xenia Raye and her announcement on where she’ll spend the next four years of her athletic career.
In front of a packed house at the school’s gymnasium on Friday afternoon, one that include nearly the entire student along with school officials, family members, relatives and friends, the Wizards’ senior ended all the anticipation and second-guessing by disclosing that the University of Georgia won the lottery over the other four schools -USC, LSU, Vanderbilt and Arkansas -she narrowed her list down to.
But Xenia and junior phenom and sister Lisa Raye, known for their quickness on the track, pulled a fast one on this day.
It’s a package deal.
In a surprise twist, moments after Xenia announced her decision, Lisa followed by also telling a mostly-stunned crowds that she, too, will be a Bulldog in the fall of 2026.
Hear what both sisters had to say about their decisions in the videos below.
