Memorable Moments, Spring 2025: Eagles’ Satisfield Leaps Seven Feet!

It was yet another eventful season for our RI track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Ocean State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Barrington’s Caleb Satisfield.

PRs are common. It’s the normal progression for track & field athletes each time they’re competing. Depending on the event, it usually occurs in small increments. In events like the high jump, maybe an inch or two. Oftentimes, it’s not much more. That wasn’t the case for the Eagles’ Satisfield at the Class B Championships during one special afternoon. At the May 24 meet, no one was touching Barrington’s multi-sport standout. It was there that the junior made history by soaring to a height of seven-feet even, a best by six inches! Satisfield became only the fourth in the state to achieve the milestone and the first since 1997 when South Kingstown’s David Arundel set the current mark of 7-1.
