Boys’ XC Team Preview: No. 8, South Kingstown

South Kingstown finished tenth at last year’s State Meet, highlighted by an impressively tight 39-second gap between its No. 1 and No. 5 runners. Four of those five return this fall, along with five total from last year’s varsity roster. We’re slotting the Rebels at No. 8 in our preseason rankings, but there’s clear potential to climb higher.

Last season, SK had three harriers under 18 minutes—sophomore Erik Dahl (17:50.81), junior Tucker Richmond (17:55.10), and junior Cooper Monaco (17:58.77). Of the 18 state qualifiers in 2024, the Rebels boasted the smallest spread between their top five, and that consistency should continue. Junior Trevor Richardson (18:16.93) and junior Colin Graf (18:17.00) round out the returning top five.

A year ago, SK was a young team loaded with underclassmen. Now, with that experience and potential depth from its JV squad—which placed fifth at JV States—the Rebels are poised to improve by at least two spots at the State Meet. Don’t be surprised if they make an even bigger jump come early November.
