When a course features a section they call Monty’s Monster, you have to figure that PRs—if any—will be at a minimum. A few Rhode Island schools made their way to Thetford, Vermont, for the annual Woods Trail Run, one of New England’s toughest cross-country meets.

Among the 53 teams that competed across the five varsity races, East Greenwich placed seventh overall with 255 points, while Barrington finished tenth with 348 points.
