Indoor Season Returns: Key Dates, Major Meets For 2025-26

With a few more postseason meets taking place, the cross-country season is still hanging on, but it won’t be long until the competition shifts indoor.

December 1 marks the first official day of the 2025-26 indoor track & field season in Rhode Island. Coming shortly, we will preview some of our top athletes that will be making the PCTA fieldhouse their home for the next few months of the winter campaign.

The first statewide competition comes quickly with the annual RITCA Injury Fund Relay Carnival taking place on Saturday, Dec. 5. The league season kicks off on Dec. 11. Below is a schedule of events throughout the season as well as some popular out-of-state competitions.

A few key dates to remember: The RIIL Class Championships will be held on Jan. 31 with the State Meet following two weeks later on Feb. 7. The second annual Winter Warrior Classic at the TRACK at New Balance will take place on Dec. 28. A few weeks later on Jan. 17 it’s the popular East Coast Invitational. Both meets are sponsored by New Balance and Marathon Sports. Looking ahead, as always the Reggie Lewis Center will be the destination for the New England Championships, set for Feb. 28. Among other national competitions, the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships are scheduled from March 12 to March 15 at the TRACK at New Balance.
