Barring the impending snowstorm, the state’s finest will be at PCTA on Saturday for the RIIL Class Championships. Six team champions, 90 individual or relay titlists, and a flood of standout performances should keep the spectators entertained and sentence the coaches to a long, tense day.
Would they want it any other way?
This weekend’s action begins at 9 a.m. with the Class A boys and girls. Class B gets underway at 12:30 p.m., followed by Class C at 3:30 p.m. As is typical this time of year, things are starting to heat up — and don’t expect them to simmer down when teams and athletes battle in a meet that never disappoints and always provides the perfect prelude to the State Meet in two weeks.
Much like the AFC and NFC championships this past weekend, this is our big matchup before the Super Bowl in two weeks. And, as usual, Ocean State Running has got it all covered!
In collaboration with the NFHS network, OSR will provide a live stream of the meet that’s available to subscribers and rebroadcast later on our YouTube page. We’ll also be on site taking care of all the action with photos and interviews, followed by articles on all the happenings of the day. As for interviews, we’ll do our best to get as many winners as we can during the nine-plus hours. If we haven’t gotten to you, please seek us out. Obviously, our coverage doesn’t just start on Saturday. Throughout the week, OSR will be previewing all six boys and girls’ meets. The games is on!
