
The region’s best will converge at the Reggie Lewis Center this Saturday for the 38th annual New England Track & Field Championships. Expect an endless array of top performances as athletes from six states – New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island and host Massachusetts – go toe-to-toe for regional supremacy.
Among the boys’ and girls’ entries, the Ocean State boasts several top contenders – Mount Hope’s Thea Jackson (55-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump), Moses Brown’s Skyler Maxwell (600m), La Salle’s Alyssa Parenteau (mile), North Kingstown’s Tayla Schneider (shot), Moses Brown (girls’ 4x200m), Barrington’s Patrick Trainor (55m dash), La Salle’s Garrett Giroux-Pezzullo (300m), Portsmouth’s Sean Gray (two mile), La Salle’s Jalen Moseley (55m hurdles, high jump, long jump), and La Salle (boys’ 4x200m & 4x400m),
Our State Running team will provide a free live stream of Saturday’s meet, with several voices sharing mic duties and offering detailed analysis of each event throughout the day.
Throughout the remainder of the week, we’ll preview some of the top events that feature RI athletes. Below is a link to entries and live results as well as the schedule of events. The meet kicks off at 1 p.m.
