Now we’re down to one.
At least for most athletes and teams, there’s just one more competition left in the cross-country season.
The granddaddy of them all. The one where the best of the best square off one last time over the challenging, up-and-down terrain.
The RIIL State XC Championships.
Thirty-six qualifying teams and close to 140 individual athletes will invade The Reservation on Saturday for the biggest competition of the fall campaign. The boys kick things off at 11:30 a.m., with the girls following at 12:15 p.m.
We’re on it!
Ocean State Running will provide all the coverage you need for this weekend’s meet. Throughout the remainder of the week, we’ll provide previews of the State Meet. Who are some of the top individuals who will be lining up at the starting line, ready to make their mark on the Chieftains’ Covered-Bridge Trail? How about the teams? Who will take home the coveted hardware and bragging rights at the season-ending competition?
As always, we’ll put our crystal ball to work and give you our best predictions for how the two races will unfold.
