There’s Nothing Better!
On Saturday, the state’s best will gather at Ponaganset High School one final time this fall. It’s the perfect conclusion to another memorable cross-country season in Rhode Island, as runners and teams battle for individual and team glory at the RIIL State Cross-Country Championships.
To every team and athlete who qualified for this weekend’s competition, hold your heads high. Not every runner can win a race, and not every school can bring home a championship trophy. But every qualifier has earned the right to be here through countless miles, hard work, dedication and determination. Whatever happens on the Chieftains’ Covered-Bridge Trail, you deserve to be celebrated.
Let’s go!
The starter’s pistol fires at 11:30 a.m. for the boys’ race, officially kicking off a day that will create memories to last a lifetime. At 12:15 p.m., it’s the girls’ turn to take center stage.
Check out our race previews below, and follow all the action with live results throughout the meet.
We know our place. Ocean State Running will be there every step of the way, bringing you all the action from championship Saturday!
