Teanne Ewings, Houlton (ME)

Ewings won the New England two-mile title during the indoor season and has an all-time best of 10:28.43 for the deuce. She was also a runner-up in cross country at both the Maine Festival of Champions and the Maine Class C Championships. While the longer distances are her forte, she also twice ran 4:57 for the mile this past winter with a best of 4:57.73.

Samantha Moore, Portland (ME)

Moore has strong credentials on the track with range in the short and middle-distance events. The Portland junior has a PR of 59.85 for the 400m. She also has bests of 2:15.83 for the 800m and 4:57.96 for the mile. Moore was the Class A winner in both events this past indoor season.

Lily Jin, Emerging Elite(MA)

The Wellesley native, who competes for Emerging Elite, was ninth in this race last year. No doubt Jin will be looking to improve on that placement in her final season as a high-schooler. The Yale commit won the mile at the Marathon Sports Winter Festival during the indoor campaign. JIn ran a best of 4:56.05 for the mile at the BU Last Chance Meet in February and also has gone sub-10 for 3K. She boast an all-time best of 2:14.14 for the 800m, which she did last June at the New Balance Nationals.

Dana Lehr, Belmont and EE (MA)

The Belmont junior also joins the list of sub five-minute milers. She was second at the Meet of Champions in late February where she ran 4:59.66. She was just a hundredth of a second slower at the BU Terrier Classic where she clocked 4:59.67.

Cary Drake, York (ME)

You can count on Drake breaking five minutes on Friday. It doesn’t matter the race, the York senior is frequently under the mark. She has an all-time best of 4:55.35 from her runner-up finish at the New England’s last spring. Drake, who was third in the mile at the New England’s, had an indoor best of 4:57.61 from the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational. In cross country, the Northwestern-bound runner was third at the Maine Festival of Champions and eighth at the New England meet.

Lucy McLean, Ipswich NE Elite (MA)

Keep an eye on McLean at Friday’s race. Less than a month ago, the Ipswich junior had an impressive double at the Raleigh Relays. At the North Carolina meet, which attracts collegiate and open runners, she clocked bests of 2:11 for the 800 and 4:39.09 for the 1,500m. McLean, who also runs for New England Elite, ran a best of 4:58 for the mile at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational this winter. She also has sub-60 speed in the 400m with a best of 58.18.

Mackenzie Cook, Oyster River (NH)

The Oyster River Junior recently competed in the Championship 3K at the Penn Relays Carnivals where she was timed in a PR of 10:05.83. She has an all-time best of 5:06.80 from the MSTCA Northeast Invitational this past winter and on April 20 ran an outdoor PR of 5:08.42 at the Sanborn Invitational.

Haley Kavanagh, Oyster River (NH)

The gifted senior broke the five-minute barrier for 1,600m with a victory at the Black Bear Invitational. On the indoor surface, she ran bests of 2:55 for the 1,000m and 5:00.96 for the mile, which she did at the New England Championships. In cross country, Kavanagh was 11th at the New England’s.

Tenley Nelson, Phillips Exeter Academy (NH)

Nelson came strides away from breaking the five minutes last spring, clocking an all-time best of 5:00.54 at the Battle Roads Twilight Series. She also ran 5:01.04 for the mile and 2:14.30 for 800m at the Nike Outdoor Nationals last June.

Rory Sullivan, Saint Raphael Academy (RI)

The Furman-bound senior was the Gatorade Athlete of the Year for cross-country in the Ocean State this past fall after earning individual titles at the Class C Championships and the State Meet. Her effort at the states was her fourth straight year solidifying first-team, all-state honors. Sullivan also qualified for the Nike Cross Nationals after finishing sixth at the NXN Northeast Regionals. The multiple all-stater won the 1,500m at the indoor states, a meet she was also second in the 1K. While coming so close on a number of occasions, Sullivan dipped under five minutes in the mile for the first time in her career at the CT Distance Festival on April 19 where she was fifth overall in 4:59.43. At the Penn Relays last weekend, Sullivan ran an outdoor best of 10:02.84 in the Championship 3K.
