It was yet another eventful season for our RI track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Ocean State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Woonsocket’s Adelaide Caron.
Throughout the outdoor season, Caron was one of our more consistent (and successful) athletes, especially when it came crunch time. The Villa Novan hammer thrower was at her best the last month of the season, winning her last seven meets of the spring campaign. In five of those competitions, Caron exceeded 174 feet or further. Just two weeks after capturing the individual title at the State Meet with a then-best of 176-8, the WHS junior had the top performance of her career against the country’s finest throwers, striking it rich at the New Balance Nationals with a PR of 182-1.
