It was yet another eventful season for our MA track & field athletes. Throughout the summer months, Ocean State Running will feature some of our most memorable performances during the outdoor campaign. Here we feature Chariho Regional’s Erin vonHousen
During a year where she earned numerous accolades, including individual state titles in the 3K (indoor) and 1,500-meter run (outdoor), the Charger senior saved her besr for last in 2024. Competing in a trio of events at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon, the weekend of June 12-15, vonHousen concluded her high school career with all-time bests in all three, clocking 4 minutes, 49.67 seconds for the mile, 2:12.85 for the 800m and 6:50.02 for the 2,000m steeplechase. Her effort in the steeplechase, broke her own state record of 6:56.63 from last year.
