This Monday marks the first day of practice for high school sports in Rhode Island.
But as we all know, it doesn’t matter what day our cross-country runners are officially able to prepare for the upcoming fall season, they’ve been ready to explode long before Aug. 19. From the State Meet last year, all but one will be returning from the top seven. On the girls’ side, four first-team all-staters will be back. There will be a bunch of familiar faces and we’re sure plenty of new ones. It’s gonna be fun
In the next few weeks, we’ll be previewing some of our top athletes and teams for the 2024 season. As far as competition, it gets underway soon, like just over two-weeks-from-now soon. Once again, teams from throughout the state will be at Deerfield Park in Smithfield for the annual Injury Fund X-C Carnival. Below we have the complete schedule of the meet with the teams that will be competing in each race. The defending champions are in bold.
