After winning the last two team titles, Cumberland has its sights set on a three-peat this season. Look for Charli McCue to be one of those runners that can make that dream a reality.
The junior standout had a consistent year on the dirt trails last season. She capped it off by placing fifth at the Class A meet and the following week securing seventh at the states where she raced to an all-time best of 19:00.05.
McCue carried that momentum into track, showing significant improvement both indoors and outdoors. She posted personal bests in several events, highlighted by a 4:44.93 in the 1,500m that earned her a sixth-place medal at the Outdoor State Championships.
Those performances point to another strong fall, with McCue expected to be back in her element and playing a key role for the Clippers once the championship season arrives.
