Wizards’ Raye Advances To 200m Finals At All American

Seventeen heats, 110 runners.

Not surprisingly, Lisa Raye is near the top.

West Warwick’s gifted sophomore is off to a great start in her first meet of the outdoor season. On Friday, Raye advanced to the finals of the 200-meter dash at this weekend’s All-American Track Classic in South Carolina, blasting to the No. 2 time of the day (and nation) of 24.06 seconds to win her heat of the preliminaries. She sits behind North Carolina’s Maya Love, who posted a time of 23.85. The finals are on Saturday at 6:50 p.m.

Raye, along with her talented sister Xenia Raye, are among some of the best runners on the east coast at the two-day meet. Both will be competing in the 100m with the prelims set for 9:30 a.m. and the finals at 2:05 p.m. Xenia is also scheduled for the 400m, scheduled for 3:55 p.m.
