It won’t be all rest and relaxation for many of the state’s track & field athletes during next week’s school vacation. Several top performers will travel to Franklin Field in Philadelphia for the historic Penn Relays Carnival, scheduled for April 23–25. Meanwhile, many underclassmen will head to the East Bay for the inaugural Barrington Freshman/Sophomore Invitational on April 25.
As for this week, the focus shifts to relays with the annual RITCA Outdoor Injury Fund Relay Carnival. The meets are divided by class and held at three different venues. Class A competition will take place Thursday at Bishop Hendricken, while Class B will be held at Barrington, with both meets scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Class C will compete Saturday at Exeter/West Greenwich, with events starting at 10 a.m.
