About two dozen runners will be making their way to Franklin Park on Saturday for the Foot Locker Northeast Regionals. While a top 10 finish and qualifying spot to the Nationals in two weeks may be difficult with the level of talented expected to toe the line at this weekend’s competition. there’s still a few that should fare well against the region’s best.
For the boys, three harriers who cracked the top 10 at the State Meet a few weeks ago will be on the line in the featured Championship race with Narragansett’s Cole Francis (fourth, 15:45.48), Barrington’s Myles Napolitano (sixth, 16:02.23) and East Greenwich’s Luke Allen (eighth, 16:07.50) entered. Recent state champion Keaney Bayha of Pilgrim (18:19.3) is the lone runner from the Ocean State that attained a top finish at the states.
