As to be expected, the class championships produced a multitude of individuals worthy of this week’s HOKA Athlete of the Week. While there were several that could have been nominated for our male recipient, the final decision proved to be a no-brainer. After all, it was a nation leader. North Kingstown’s Ethan Wordell earned that title at Saturday’s Class A Meet with his winning performance in the hammer. The Skippers’ talented thrower unleashed a 12-foot best of 231-1. He moved past fellow RI rival Christian Toro of Lincoln for the No. 1 spot in the country.
