For the two recipients of the HOKA Athletes of the Week, one runner punched her ticket to the Nationals this weekend and another proved he has the potential to do it in the not-so-distant future. Congratulations to Saint Raphael Academy’s Rory Sullivan and La Salle’s Marshall Vernon for this week’s honor. Sullivan will be in Portland. Ore., this weekend for the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN). The recent Furman signee earned her spot at NXN after finishing sixth overall at Nike Cross Regionals -Northeast. Sullivan raced to a time of 18 minutes, 50.3 seconds on the difficult 5K at Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls, N.Y. As for Vernon, he was 14th overall in boys’ Championship race where he was the first sophomore to cross the line with a time of 16:23.7.
